Transfer Credits

Â鶹´«Ã½ is continuously working to make transfer easier.  Many students attend Â鶹´«Ã½ with the intention of transferring to a four year college or university and many students who are just starting at Â鶹´«Ã½ have attended other colleges and universities.

Accepted Credits

Â鶹´«Ã½ accepts undergraduate courses from colleges or universities which are recognized by the United States Department of Education from regionally accredited organizations and nationally recognized agencies except for remedial/developmental/preparatory*, graduate, or continuing education.  (* Some remedial/developmental/preparatory courses may meet pre-requisite requirements.)

Credit granted by another institution for credit by exams or credit granted for life experience will not be evaluated as transfer credit.

Â鶹´«Ã½ does not evaluate transfer courses that are withdrawn or in progress.

Additional Information:

Course Equivalencies

Transfer courses are evaluated by reviewing course catalog descriptions.

Courses that are at least 70 percent comparable in nature, level, and content offered at Â鶹´«Ã½ may be given a direct equivalent.  Courses that do not have a direct equivalent may be given generic general education or elective credit.

Students may also use the to see how courses transfer to Â鶹´«Ã½.

Transfer GPA

A minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA is required to earn a degree at Â鶹´«Ã½. Transfer credits may affect this.

Transfer grades (A, B, C, D, F) are computed in the student’s Â鶹´«Ã½ cumulative GPA.

Credit Hours

Â鶹´«Ã½ does not limit the number of undergraduate credits that can be transferred.

The number of transfer credits granted per course will not exceed the number granted by the originating institution.
  • The conversion of quarter hours to semester hours is 0.667 for each quarter hour.
  • Clock/contact hours may be accepted when the transcript key contains credit conversion.

Military Credits

Â鶹´«Ã½ may award credit for military training programs.  Appropriate department faculty make the final determination.
